jordan ezekiel
jaime & yammerz threw a surprise baby shower for michelle this past sunday… i didn’t get a picture of the couple together but this is their adorable doggie “pixie”
i’ve never been to such a guy-oriented baby shower before, there were about 5 girls and 15 guys at one point, before all of jaime’s coworkers showed up. anyways, the guys had a game that basically had them racing to see who could drain their baby bottle the fastest! i thought it was cute seeing the guys all ‘bottle’s up!’
here’s another game they played, which required everyone to sniff “dirty diapers” and figure out if the gunky mess inside was either snickers, three musketeers, peppermint patties, etc, that had been melted and smeared into the diapers. eewwwwww!!!!!
and here’s perry holding zack, this incredibly cute adopted kid of jaime’s boss. i thought i’d ask to hold him just for a second, but then the parents never tried to take him back from me! so i had to sit down and prop up my arm on the arm of the couch so that i wouldn’t get tired holding him… but he was such a good baby for me, no crying, no fussing, he just took to me quickly… the only break i got was when i handed him off to perry for a few minutes. but since he was so well behaved, i didn’t really mind so much.
michelle & jaime are sure gonna have a whole lotta help with jordan ezekiel from all the “aunties” and “uncles” of yammerz…

susan's in town!
all right… so i haven’t posted in over a week. but perry came back! and now susan’s in town! we’ve had a lotta fun running around - i “dragged” her on my field trip last friday to snow summit, and taught her the basics of snowboarding. she picked up quick!
anyways, we’ve had a bunch of fun just hanging out with kat, as you can see in the picture above… after showing her the adventist mecca of loma linda, we took her to a place that has never been available to her before - in-n-out! hahaha… she’s never been west of the rockies before, so we knew she hadn’t tried the tasty goodness of in-n-out before. while there, some girls came in and sat near us with what can only be described as a unique sense of style. and.... when we got home, we tried out their look on us:
whatcha think? =)
anyways, today was the night for the standard kat-n-kimi night tour of los angeles. drove out there around 8:45 at night, then we ate a zip fusion, and then took pictures at the fountains outside the ahmandson theater and at the disney hall. went down to the biltmore, got outta the car and wandered around the hotel and explored pershing square, drove around the bonaventure, down to the staples center, and then back to union station and olvera street, past the white memorial and “general hospital”, and then home to grand terrace. of course, we got asked by security to leave the premises of some of the places we took pictures… apparently things close down at night =) hahahah…
anyways, here we are at zip fusion:
and a picture of a complimentary dish they brought out to us:
ain’t it pretty? and free, too! hahaha.... well, we’ve had a ton of fun around town.... i’m sure there’ll be more coming up during the week ahead!

home again, home again....
and now i’m back in california. and although all i did today was sleep and eat, it kicked me in the butt. that’s possibly because my sleep was interrupted by well-meaning flight attendants trying to give me water or cookies or orange juice, and getting on and off planes on the way here. whatever… all this means is no more relaxing time in new york… and back to the grind soon… but i have a couple’a days left before it begins.
and with that, i’m off to bed. trying to “normalize” my sleeping patterns. wish me luck.
and a happy Sabbath to y’all!

cafe lalo's
if you’re ever in new york you should eat at cafe lalo’s cuz it’s a nice li’l place. you’ll probably recognize it from the movie you’ve got mail, it’s the little cafe where meg ryan is waiting for tom hanks to show up, but she doesn’t know that it’s him yet. and he sees her from outside the restaurant… anyways, it’s got great decor and a large selection of wonderfully prepared desserts. i’ve only tried a couple of things but mmmm.... they were good!
the other plus is that they’re open till two a.m., so when you’re wide awake and looking for something to eat cuz you’re still operating on west coast time, they’ll still be open for you to sit in and relax and enjoy some yummy cheesecake.

knicks vs suns
so kat, ching, and i went to a knicks game tonight…
some people (rod!) were like, “how come you’re going to that game? it’ll be a blowout! won’t even be interesting!” and well… yeah, i would’ve agreed with him, but unfortunately, i don’t schedule the games for the knicks, and so we had to buy tickets to the one game that was scheduled during our vacation in NY. it was my first time in the garden, and even though it was old, i thought it photographed well (i like my last shot...) anyways…
i took a picture with my boy Q but unfortunately he didn’t play tonight cuz of injury? or something…
at the end of the 4th quarter the game was tied up - so we went into overtime. it was good cuz the knicks were leading the entire game by 6+ points, and then they lost the lead and were trailing by 4 points or so during the last few minutes, so it was nice to tie up the game and push it into overtime. plus, someone had just fouled out on the suns, so it seemed like we had an advantage… i say “we” meaning the knicks, cuz although i’m not a fan of either team i was watching, i was watching it in the knicks home court. well.... no… that’s not the real reason i was rooting for the knicks. i wanted them to win cuz i wanted the suns to lose, cuz the suns are the only team in our (by “our” i am referring to the clippers) division that is beating us, although we were leading up until last week or so. basically, i want the clippers to win and the suns to lose so that the clippers will reclaim their spot at the top of our division. at any rate, i was excited to watch a game in overtime - that always makes for a bit o’ excitement!
here’s the score at the end of the 5th quarter. yup, it was tied again! more excitement! more gameplay! double overtime! yay!!
and at the end of the 6th quarter… yes, the game is STILL tied! can you believe it? we went into triple overtime! yeah - 3 extra quarters! it was pretty amazing! by this time, two or three more suns had fouled out, and steve nash and a few others were all playing in foul trouble, each of them carrying 5 fouls. they had absolutely no fouls to give…
and here is the final score. after pushing it 3 times, the knicks were able to finally seal the deal and win by a 7-point spread. it was definitely an exciting game (oh, and this is the pic i’m talking about in the beginning - i really like the way the ceiling turned out in the photos).
so yeah, we watched a 7-quarter game and had alotta fun cheering on both teams’ dunks and listening to the commentary of the people around us. oh, and we got a free coupon for chipotle burritos! yay! what a great night!!! =)

happy new year's from times square!
so… it worked out =) we made it into times square!
kat, susan, & i donned some 2006 glasses in ryan’s times square apartment, just half a block away from the festivities
kat, susan, & sebastian - from my view lying down on the floor =)
and then turning the camera around to take a picture of me
making it outside to times square!
i took pictures with alot of the people passing by - it was just one big party!
back inside - so many people crowded into that studio apartment! it got real hot inside!!!
susan, kat, and i pose with the lucky owner, ryan, who had the “privilege” of hosting all of us tonight. thanks ryan! i think we all owe you one....
